Classes are in Full Swing!

Classes at Austin Peay are in full swing and that means things at the BCM are too. Everyone is trying to get their respected ministry assignments off the ground and so far, things are going pretty well. The Music Ministries at the BCM are growing. We have added a choir this year called "Voices of the B" and we will be having our first rehearsal soon. We are mainly going to go to churches, nursing homes, hospitals, etc and sing for them. This year is going to be so much fun. Homecoming is coming up soon and our friends from the Tennessee Tech BCM will be hanging out with us that day before the homecoming festivities take place. We are heading to Mt. Juliet next week for BCM Fall Focus, which is a statewide BCM conference. We will get to meet up with all the BCM's in the state and make new friends while getting to see some old friends as well. Thats all for now...

Flood Craziness!!!

Well, it has been a while since my last post on here but let's catch up on the current events. Currently we are having flooding in the Clarksville and Middle Tennessee Area. I have been stuck in Clarksville for 2-3 days since every road in and out of Clarksville was closed. We were basically on an island known as "Peay Island" and were frankly getting cabin fever. Mother's Days is in the midst and exams are being rescheduled and it is frankly a mess!!! I am hoping to get home this Saturday if the river has receded enough for me to cross it and make it into Dickson. Some people are having to take finals on Saturday and that is really going to stink for them. It is looking promising as to getting out of Clarksville and getting home. I did manage to get out to Wal-Mart in Sango tonight to get some essentials and had not a bit of trouble at all. My heart and prayers go out to those that were affected by the flooding and I know God will take care of it all. God Bless! :-)

Got a little behind on my posts...Classes got in the way! :)

Okay, so much has happened in the last few weeks since my last post. Classes are just rolling along and will be ending in just a few short weeks. I cannot believe that this year is almost over already. Many things have been happening at the Baptist Collegiate Ministry (BCM) on campus including dinners, which I have helped to cook, Bible study and worship on Thursdays. I am super excited about this week's worship because It a joint worship with the Wesley Foundation students and is open to the entire campus as always. But it will be starting later becuase of the Homecoming 2009 Concert which will featuring Lady Antebellum! I will be singing in the praise band for worship this week and that will be a fun thing to be a part of. I am ready to worship God with my friends and hopefully meet some new people at the worship. I have been home so much in the last week becuase my Paw Paw passed away and I will forever miss him. I know that he walks with the Lord and I will get to see him again someday. Homecoming Game is coming up this weekend and so many other activities are taking place leading up to it. The parade is Saturday and will be so much fun! Well, hopefully my next post won't be so far away and more will come as the days roll on.

Welcome Week Continued...and Labor Day Weekend

So the rest of Welcome Week was awesome! The Wesley Foundation had a "twister" tournament and cookout. The turnout was pretty good and we had so much fun. Went home for the long Labor Day weekend and spent time with my family. Arrived back yesterday (Monday) to school and went shopping and to dinner with my two very good friends Haley and Tina. Although I enjoyed being at home and sleeping in for a change, I was ready to come back to school and get back on my routine. Getting back to class was good and I got to cook dinner with Josh for the BCM tonight. We had a Mexican fiesta night! Ole'! Well more updates to come as the semester rolls on.

Welcome Week & Living on Campus

So this will be my first year living on campus. I was a little nervous on the drive up...okay alot nervous...my stomach was in knots the whole way! I knew from several visits over the summer where God wanted me to be when I was not in class or studying, the Baptist Collegiate Ministry (BCM). He knew that there would be people there that I could surround myself with that would help me to grow as a Christian. So much stuff was planned for Welcome Week. I hung out with the others who attended the BCM and we went bowling, played games one night, had a "slip n' slide" and just had general fun hanging out. The food is not as bad as I thought it would be for cafeteria food and my roommate is pretty cool. I think that we will get along just fine for the year. Still trying to find a job, sooner or later, the money source will run out and I will have to have a paycheck rolling in. More updates to come as welcome week goes along and I start the next chapter in my life. Thank you God for wonderful friends and a smooth transition into the campus life.
